Because this is a salt based product it is considered to be environmentally responsible and can even earn  points on various green building scales. Termimesh and Termistop USA

The Termimesh USA and Termistop systems are non-chemical subterranean termite barrier systems that provide a long term solution and promote sustainability within a structure. This system is made up of marine grade stainless steel that is placed at critical entry points for termites within the foundation of a building. This is a green building product and can earn points on the various green building scales.
